Shannon Hara- Flute and Guitar

Shannon Hara is a New York City-based flutist, guitarist, and educator. Highly experienced in teaching music to students of all ages (early childhood to adulthood), she is currently on staff at The Little Brooklyn Pre-K Center teaching pre-k music and maintains a private studio teaching flute, guitar, ukulele and piano lessons.

Shannon hosts an annual in-person recital in Manhattan for her studio of flute, guitar, and piano students. This gives students the opportunity to showcase their musical progress and build their confidence as performers.

Shannon received a graduate degree in flute performance from New York University where she concurrently served as an adjunct flute instructor and studied in the studio of Keith Underwood. She received a bachelor's degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia where she studied flute in the studio of Susan Royal.

Shannon frequently performs in several orchestras, such as the Greenwich Village Orchestra, Manhattan Symphonie, and the New Inlet Orchestra. Additionally, you can find her playing guitar or singing with various folk and pop ensembles.
